Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to become an important part of a rapidly growing team. The Staff Accountant will be expected to perform a variety of general accounting functions leading the company's payroll processing along with assisting in accounts payable and fixed asset reporting. This position reports to the Accounting supervisor and is responsible for applying general principles of accounting, reviewing and analyzing financial information, and preparing financial reports. An ideal candidate is responsive, thoughtful, self-directed, positive, and seeking a challenging role.
 

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in daily, weekly, monthly financial and KPI Board Reports
  • Assist the consolidation of the multi-location P&L, analytics, and reporting
  • Perform daily Bank Reconciliations and month close for all bank accounts
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations as assigned
  • Assist in fixed assets reconciliations capitalization reviews and assist to build inventory internal controls
  • Assist in the check run, ACH, or disbursement process
  • Assist in the monitoring of credit cards postings
  • Produces and distributes recurring and ad hoc management reports
  • Acts as a key resource to business leaders, assisting in modeling, business case / project analysis, and other ad hoc requests
  • Assists with management of the treasury function and credit agreements
  • Assists in the general financial operations as needed
  • Oversee the employee onboarding process, including paperwork, training, orientation, and maintaining records and compliance documents
  • Monitor and review financial transactions and activities for assigned accounts, funds, departments, and units.
  • Prepare monthly and annual reconciliations and financial reports and statements for assigned areas to ensure compliance with various statutory requirements, generally accepted accounting principles, and established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, fixed assets, and other financial data.
  • Maintain accounting controls and audit documents.
  • Prepare journal entries and maintain and reconcile accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of various special reports as directed.
  • Perform and direct the entire processing of in-house payroll ensuring the timely and accurate computation and payment of earnings for multiple business units and employers.
  • Assist with external/Internal audit requests and provide information as requested.
  • Participate in special projects, team training, and development.
  • Assist in the processing of accounts payable and review proper accounting treatment for all transactions.
  • Provide technical accounting support to various departments.
  • Assist with the development, review, and updating of accounting policies, procedures, checklists, and related documentation concerning assigned functions and responsibilities.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years of accounting or finance experience
  • Knowledge of the full accounting cycle.
  • Experience in HVAC, plumbing, or construction preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct or other multi-entity integrated accounting software.
  • Experience with in-house payroll processing and payroll tax filing.
  • Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas.
  • Well organized, and proactive, must be able to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced quickly changing environment.
  • Ability to adhere to the highest standards of confidentiality and discretion in all proprietary business, financial, and employee matters. 
  • Ability to maintain open, direct, positive, and objective lines of communication with management
  • Ability to be self-directed in a team-oriented environment.
